March 21–31: Operation Cichoomina Kaayyoo

The Oromo Liberation Army (OLA) launched coordinated strikes across Oromia under Operation Cichoomina Kaayyoo, targeting government forces over 10 days in 12 districts. The campaign reportedly inflicted over 300 enemy fatalities and left hundreds wounded.

1. March 21 | East Shewa (Liiban Cuqqaalaa, Boosat)
• 7 regime soldiers killed, 7 wounded
• Weapons captured at Muummee Kosooroo and Rukkeechaa


2. March 22 | Iluu Abbaa Boor (Algee Saaccii)
• 9 killed, several wounded at Gudayyaa


3. March 22 | East & West Arsi (Jajuu, Heeban)
• 23 killed, 20 wounded in simultaneous assaults


4. March 24 | East Wollega (Saasiggaa – Jimaataa)
• Major ambush inflicted heavy casualties on regime forces


5. March 25 | West Hararge (Hancaar – Kamisaa, Hoofii)
• 80 political prisoners freed
• Regime camp destroyed; soldiers fled to Calalaa


6. March 25 | East Arsi (Muunneessaa – Heeban Laaqicha)
• 10 killed (including commanders), 18 wounded


7. March 25 | West Shewa (Iluu – Doowaa Bisee, Soodduu)
• 27 killed, 13 wounded


8. March 26 | East Arsi & East Shewa (Doddotaa, Liiban Cuqqaalaa)
• 22 killed in Doddotaa (Amuddee); 16 and 22 killed in two East Shewa clashes (Odaa Jiddaa and Daggala Jiddaa)
• Total: 60+ casualties


9. March 29 | East Shewa (Dugdaa – Dararaaa)
• 9 killed, including counterinsurgency commander


10. March 30 | West Hararge (Hancaarii, Daaroo Labuu, Hancaar)
• Total of 94 regime soldiers killed across three coordinated ambushes
• 29 wounded

11. March 30 | East Arsi (Shanan Kooluu – Cabbii, Asakoo – Riibuu)
• 20 killed, 11 wounded in Cabbii
• Additional ambush disrupted reinforcements


12. March 31 | East Shewa (Adaamaa – Ceekaa Siillasee)
• 17 killed, 6 wounded
• Weapons seized in a precision strike

March 28 – April 1: Government Raids & Civilian Repression

East & West Arsi, Shaggar: 14 civilians were killed and 32 homes destroyed during government raids.

Qarsaa Mallimaa: 22-year-old Bayissa Fayisa executed extrajudicially.

Nageelle Arsi: Dozens arrested under forced labor pretexts.

Mana Sibu (West Wallagga): Reports of torture against three detained teachers.

Deedo (Jimma): Oromo professionals targeted:
• Rashid Abba Gojjam suspended and reassigned
• Fantahun Ambawu accused of inciting ethnic harassment in offices

April 2–3: Displacement, Ambushes & Torture

Southwest Shaggar: 500+ families displaced due to military looting

Honqolo Waabe (East Arsi):
• 10 government soldiers killed
• 5 wounded
• Ammunition captured

Qondala District (West Wallagga):
• Student Ejjetaa Mohammed and his wife Dasgaraa Zakarias arrested
• Zakarias hospitalized in Begii after torture
• Husband reported to be under severe prison abuse

Liqixii Area: Ongoing looting under the guise of insurance and PP fees
